This is a special song. Sangeet Foundation  is a charity created by my friend Jayanta Ray with the concept of music for mental well being. He is passionate about this cause and is working tirelessly to promote and create awareness of mental health issues using the medium of music. It was an honour when he asked me if I could write a theme song for Sangeet Foundation on the topic of hope. Jayanta has himself composed the song and has sung an acoustic version of this song. I hope he will forgive me for posting this :) as he hopes to do a studio version someday soon. 

हसरत को उड़ने दो

हवाओं से मिलने दो 

अन्धेरा हो जहान में तो 

दिया दिल में जलने दो 

माना के बदला सा 

आलम शहर का है 

सूनी है गली दिल की 

अपनों से भी दूरी है 

फिर तुम से गले मिलने 

खुशियों को तो आनी है 

मुस्कान इक ज़रा अपने 

होंठों पे यूं रहने दो 

हौसला हो इरादे हों 

फिर क्या है जो मुश्किल हो 

इंसान की हक़ीक़त वो 

हारे नहीं हिम्मत वो 

फिर वक़्त ये बदलेगा 

उम्मीद ये कायम हो 

उस पार सवेरा है 

इस रात को टलने दो 

हसरत को उड़ने दो

हवाओं से मिलने दो
